Part-time internship for FALL 2023 / SPRING 2024 and paid with stipend.

Conceptualized in 2017 from a partnership between UA Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health (MEZCOPH) and Estes Elementary School, GAME! (Guys After-School Mentorship & Education) was created to address the transitional needs of early-adolescent boys as they approach middle school. GAME! takes place during the school year, with approximately 22 sessions covering the above topics including an annual field trip to the University of Arizona. GAME! occasionally merges with its partner program, Growing Girls, for co-educational sessions where similar topics are discussed. Please see more information here: https://zfcphp.arizona.edu/guys-afterschool-mentorship-and-education.

We are requesting four male Group Leaders to facilitate the program for the 2023-2024 school year. We request that interns provide two semesters of leadership for continuity. Weekly lessons will take place on Monday afternoons at Estes Elementary and Wednesday afternoons at Quail Run Elementary, thus students should have availability on either day. Group Leaders may be accompanied by a father volunteer to co-facilitate lessons and provide additional mentorship for students. Immediately following each lesson, Group Leaders will meet with the Program Director to de-brief and prepare for the following lesson.

The GAME! Program internship will be completed in-person at schools located in Marana, Arizona. To apply, email your resume and at least two references to Program Director Lindsay Bingham at lbingham@arizona.edu
