Jon Underwood

Jon Underwood is a University of Arizona graduates who have served on numerous boards, chaired events, led committees, and helped make the University of Arizona's Campaign Arizona a success.

Jon spent many years in senior management in the paper industry, including President of Boise Southern Company and Phoenix-based Southwest Forest Industries, Inc.’s Paper Products Group. In 1988 he joined Lyle Anderson, a multi-state developer of recreation-oriented planned communities. Since 1997, he has been President of Scottsdale, Arizona-based Desert Mountain Properties, with 8,000+ acres of homes and world-class golf courses located in the high Sonoran Desert.

Jon earned his Bachelor of Science at Arizona in 1964 and MBA from UC Berkeley in 1966. He has served on the Eller College of Business and Public Administration National Board of Advisors since 1983, the Karl Eller Center and Entrepreneurship Program Advisory Board since 1989, and is a member of the Campaign Arizona Presidential Leadership Team.

In addition to their dedication to their UA and Scottsdale communities, Jon and his wife Tammy are active members and committee chairs of their Episcopal church.
