I was born and raised in "big sky country" - the great state of Montana. I spent the first few years of my life on the border of Glacier National Park in Browning, Montana, where my parents were schoolteachers. Eventually, we moved to Livingston, Montana where I spent most of my young adult life along the Yellowstone river, just north of Yellowstone Park. One thing I'll never be able to do is complain about where I had the pleasure of growing up.

During my undergraduate years, I attended both state schools in Montana, but ultimately graduated from the University of Montana - Missoula. Two notable experiences during my undergrad were studying abroad for a year in Spain (I have an undergrad degree in Spanish), and meeting my future wife to be, Tamara, on my first day of Spanish class in Missoula. All I can say is good things happen when you go to (Spanish) class! I also have an MBA with concentrations in Finance and International Management from the University of New Mexico - Albuquerque, and a graduate certificate in Personal Financial Planning from Kansas State University.

I've had the pleasure in working in a number of different settings and roles, but for many years now I've been teaching university courses with an emphasis in Personal and Family Financial Planning at Central Washington University and currently at the University of Arizona. I am passionate about financial planning education due to the fact that crafting and following a solid financial plan can truly change people's lives for the better.

My faith, family, travel and all things outdoors are most important to me, but I love teaching, too! I hope you see you class one day soon.
