Assistant to the Clinical Coordinator Internship

Talk It Out is an initiative out of the College of Education Counseling Program that was created in partnership with the Tucson Unified School District Family Resource Centers. This partnership began from the clearly identified need to provide mental health services to students and families in the community who might otherwise encounter significant barriers to access.

The program provides free mental health counseling services to TUSD students, families, teachers and staff using a practicum training model. Under supervision, master’s level counselors-in-training provide individual, family and group counseling free of charge (no insurance required) to enrolled TUSD students and families in addition to currently employed teachers and staff members. To our knowledge, no other program or organization provides a similar service in the greater Tucson area.

Talk it Out is seeking an undergraduate student intern to provide critical assistance to the Talk it Out (TiO) Clinical Coordinator to ensure that the UA counseling students attain their clinical mental health practicum hours and that incoming clients are served timely and appropriately. Talk it Out must maintain excellent relationships with all referral sources and consistent professional communication is essential.
