Beverly “Bam” Mitchell
Beverly “Bam” Mitchell has been a Clinical Psychologist in private practice for more than 30 years in the South Bay area of Los Angeles. She is a consulting psychologist to the National Trauma Center at Del Amo Hospital in Torrance, CA. She presently serves as a Board member to the Switzer Learning Center in Torrance. The school is dedicated to nurturing kids with learning and developmental disabilities who struggle with social, emotional and behavioral challenges. She belongs to several professional organizations and especially enjoys serving as a mentor for the Los Angeles County Psychological Association.She feels honored to be a part of the Norton School since its beginnings. It has provided her with an opportunity to meet many outstanding CALES and Norton School people, make new friends, and reconnect with fellow classmates when she was in the School of Home Economics. Bam earned a B.S. in Home Economics, Textiles and Fashion Merchandising and a Masters of Education in Special Education from the UofA. She received a Masters of Counseling and Ph. D. from A.S.U. Her interests include golfing, traveling, gardening and walking along the beach near her home in Manhattan Beach, Ca.
