Degree requirements
- 18 total units, 9 units must be upper division (300-400 level)
- Six units of experiential coursework may apply to the minor (preceptorship, independent study, research, practicum) — speak with an advisor for required applications.
- Courses used in the minor may not be applied to a student's major or second minor
- Courses may be used toward a pre-major. For example, HDFS 117 or HDFS 200 can be used toward pre-nursing requirements and the HDFS minor.
Minor courses
Any combination of HDFS coursework may be used to complete the minor requirements with the exceptions:
- Nine units must be upper division (300-400 level)
- HDFS 117 (or an equivalent course) is a prerequisite to many upper division courses
- HDFS 150B1 cannot be used in the HDFS minor
