Graduate Program Application Requirements
Applicants must include the following in their application:
- Statement of Purpose
- Transcripts
- CV
- 3 letters of recommendation
- Writing Sample
- If submitting a collaborative writing sample with multiple authors please indicate which sections you wrote
- Supplemental questions
Please note we do not require GRE scores and we will not review GRE scores that are sent.
Applicant finalists will be invited to a 20 minute zoom interview with a graduate committee member and the faculty advisor you are applying to work with.
Applications open on October 15th and the application deadline is January 1st. Application materials must be submitted through GradApp.
Applicants must also meet The University of Arizona Graduate College minimum requirements.

Application Fee Waiver Request
To request a need-based fee wavier, please fill out this form by November 1st at 9AM Arizona Time (priority deadline for consideration of these waivers).
Limited fee waivers are available. You will be contacted if we are able to provide a fee waiver for you.
Decisions about these priority waivers will be based upon:
a) if a prospective student has already emailed and started a conversation with a faculty member about overlapping research interests;
b) if a Zoom or phone conversation has been scheduled between the prospective student and the faculty member;
c) if a Zoom or phone conversation has already taken place between the prospective student and the faculty member.
If waivers remain, we will ask prospective students to fill out this form by December 1st (secondary deadline for consideration of these waivers). You will be contacted if we are able to provide a fee waiver for you.
