MFT Graduate Program Application Requirements
Thank you for your interest in The University of Arizona's Marriage and Family Therapy Masters Program.
Applications for The Marriage and Family Therapy program will open August 1, 2025 and we will welcome the first cohort of incoming students in the Fall of 2026.
Applicants must meet the Graduate College minimum requirements and complete their application through GradApp. In addition to the Graduate College requirements, MFT applicants will be required to submit the following:
- Statement of Purpose
- Resume/Curriculum Vitae
- The names and contact information for 3 people who will be submitting Letters of Recommendation on your behalf.
Application Timeline and Important Dates
Applications will close on December 1, 2025, and will be reviewed after the deadline.
A select group of applicants will be invited to participate in interviews, which will be held in February 2026. Interview invitations will be sent via email in late January.
Following the interviews, applicants can expect admission decisions by late February or early March 2026, and students will be expected to provide a decision by April 15th.

Application Fee Waiver Request
Fee Waiver Information:
The MFT graduate program has a limited number of graduate application fee waivers available to prospective students. If awarded, the $90 application fee will be waived at the time you submit your application.
Priority deadline: Nov 1st
Final deadline: Dec 1st
We recommend that you wait to submit your MFT application through GradApp until after you have received information about the approval or denial of the fee waiver.
