A Student's Journey will address the academic transfer barrier for TOCC students enrolling at 4-year universities. Our staff members and collaborating faculty are determined to change the landscape of higher education and workforce on the Tohono O'odham Nation by offering an on campus experience at the University of Arizona that directly serves the needs for TOCC students.
This summer, A Student's Journey is hosting 10 Tohono O’odham Community College students at the University of Arizona to participate in a 5 weeklong internship experience with a UA faculty/staff mentor in a field area of their interest, one student having been mentored by Assistant Professor of Practice Elizabeth Heuisler.
